Liliya Ovchyan, was born in Gharapagh, daughter of famous artistic parents, who had become national treasures of Armenia and the Soviet Union. She started singing at the age of 14 years. Liliya graduated with a Diploma of Piano as a teacher and an accompanist. She pursued her musical career under the tuition of Prof. Tamara Melik-Shahnazarian and Prof. Mariana Haroutunian, and graduated with a Diploma of Opera.

Liliya became the youngest opera singer in the Soviet Union to perform “Carmen“, by G. Bizet, at the ripe age of 23. With a strong dramatic mezzo-soprano voice, she soon became an internationally recognised opera singer. By 1985 she was awarded a title of “The opera singer of the year

Liliya is a well-trained Opera singer with a considerable musical career in Europe. She possesses a strong dramatic voice of International calibre. She was awarded “Best performing” actor for her singing role in IL TROVATORE Opera, by Giuseppe Verdi.

Liliya has accomplished an Operatic performance tour of Soviet Union’s major cities, both as an Opera Singer and a Chamber Singer. She has performed with the Moscow National symphony Orchestra and has worked with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra.

Her international performances include France, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Italy, USA, Canada and Australia. She has received a “Recognition Award” from the American government for stupendous contribution she has made to the Opera industry in Armenia.

Liliya has also performed at the Austral-Armenian function, where Mr. Phillip Ruddock was special guest, as well as numerous other Armenian functions, including the 1700th Anniversary of Christianity Commemoration at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney.

She currently teaches Opera and prepares students for the Conservatorium of Music.

Garry (Gagik) Shirinyan, was born in the Arminian capital, Yerevan. Studied Music at Gomidas National Conservatorium under the tuition of Prof. Kohar Galachian and Prof. Magdalena Galoustova, and has devoted his final year to Soloist studies. While studying, Garry became a prizewinner of the prestigious Glinka competition in Moscow.

Garry, a truly gifted musician and a well-trained Opera singer, was the National Opera Soloist in Yerevan, Armenian since 1989 and recognised as best performer in Alexander Haroutunyan’s Sayet Nova Opera.

He possesses a powerful Bass voice of international caber, with a rare vocal size and colour. He has received a “Recognition Award” from the Armenian government for the stupendous contribution he has made to the Operatic industry in Armenia.

Garry has performed in Armenia, Minsk, Leningrad, Moscow, Kiev, France, Syria and Australia. Garry is currently a teacher and a consultant of Opera singing.
